Are you constantly trying to figure out in-roads to the non-Christian students in your area? Are you always striving to find new ways to motivate and inspire the students in your ministry?

Well, what if your students gathered around the flagpole at their school on the morning of September 28 and laid this petition before God, “Father, may Your will be done on my campus as it is in heaven”?

What if they really meant that prayer and what if you stood ready to help them make this a reality?

How would that change your ministry? How would that change the lives of students you work so hard to reach?

In the areas where See You at the Pole™ thrives and not just survives, there is a powerful connection between the youth pastors and the Christian students to pray and reach out to the students on campus all year long. Let See You at the Pole™ be a kick-off for your students to truly make a difference this year. Help them plan and prepare for this Global Day of Student Prayer.

While See You at the Pole™ needs your support as a youth pastor, it is a student-led event. Strong student leadership is crucial. You can best help student leaders by offering guidance and support in advance as the students prepare for See You at the Pole™. But let the students lead and pray at the flagpole. It is their event!

Pre and Post Pole Rallies
Churches all over the country sponsor pre-pole rallies that guide students through their planning steps for SYATP. This really helps them get their act together and be excellent on the morning of See You at the Pole™. A pre-pole rally is also an excellent way to both promote and plan See You at the Pole™. On the night of See You at the Pole™, thousands of communities all over the U.S. sponsor rallies. These events often show video from that morning, allow the students to give testimonies, and often offer an evangelistic message or a message of challenge to students for them to stand strong on their campuses all year long.

Challenge Sunday
This generation of students is boldly proclaiming the truth of Jesus Christ on their campuses, perhaps as in no other time in history. They need to see publicly that Christian adults in their community stand beside them. The Sunday before See You at the Pole™ (Challenge Sunday) is an excellent time for churches to show their support for the event. Furthermore, it is a great opportunity for congregations to join together in prayer for their local campuses, educators, and students.

Student Led Christian Campus Groups
Consider encouraging your students to start a Christian Club or other student-led group at their school. Christian Clubs can be recognized formally on campuses where “non-curricular” clubs are allowed (i.e., the school has a “limited open forum” policy). Wherever there is a “closed forum” policy, they can only meet unofficially. You can get more info as well as campus club resources at: www.everyschool.com. Regardless of what action students may take after See You at the Pole™, encourage and challenge them to make a personal commitment with other students to pray regularly.
